Getting Stoked for the Pizza Party!!!

Last night (Tues.) was the Pizza Party at the farm.  It's great because our apartment is right next to all the action.  We are just off the big, main patio which is party central, the hub.  So we can discreetly monitor the momentum of the parties and arrive when it's starting to hum.  …and also very convenient for running to the bathroom, etc. and chilling out for a bit and returning - because the Germans, they par-TAY.  They do not leave a party or a dinner table for a minimum of 6 hours (that's minimum).
                                                            Guests starting to arrive

                                                                         Ready!

Getting Stoked!!!

Quinn got in on the action and rolled some dough

The pizzas were great - they had no red sauce, lots of olive oil and then were topped with a variety of good stuff, like slivered onions or thin potato slices (!), or tomato and arugula, or … anchovies and capers!!! The girls even tried the anchovy pizza and it was then that I realized that had no idea that an anchovy was a small fish (hee hee) but they liked it okay :)

It was incredible watching true masters work their wood fired pizza oven…

This is Mario, head chef.  He's super fun, gregarious and always wears red crocs
He'd like to visit the States someday but he really wants to go to Jamaica

After they cranked out pizzas for a couple of hours and everybody ate and ate and ate, there was dancing on the patio and little boys started a soccer game on the lawn.  The dance party felt like a crazy wedding reception - they limbo-ed, they gham gham-ed, they karaoke-d… it was wild!  I asked the girls if they wanted to dance and they gave me the look ("you crazy?").  We played lots of ping pong to the dance music instead.

The next party is on Thursday - Pasta Party!!! (don your elastic waistbands, everyone)

Today/Wednesday, we are motoring to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa!  The girls asked me an interesting question:  "What did they call the tower originally, before it leaned."  Quinn came up with a plausible answer:  "The Tower of Pisa."
