The Leaning Tower of Pisa!

We read up and discovered that the Leaning Tower of Pisa pretty much leaned from the get-go.  The crazy thing is, they just kept building it anyway!   Ok, so they took a break for 100 years after the first few floors but then they got reinvigorated and finished it - wow!    We assumed that it started leaning sometime after it was completed -  we like the true history much better.  (It's CRAZY!!!)

Our first words when we laid eyes on the tower…."Wow, it REALLY leans!"

Then we climbed it
(I admit to being winded)

On the way up, we picked out our lunch spot.  The place with the burgundy awnings looks perfect…

At the top!  The tower is the bell tower for the monstrous cathedral next to it…
There are a bunch of bells up here

Some views of the Cathedral & Bapistry from the top of the tower

We took our shifts of holding the tower up…
Reese (blue shirt) putting her shoulder into it…

Quinn (pink shirt) taking one for the team…

There were LOTS of people helping hold the tower up :)

It really is incredibly beautiful & awe inspiring close-up

The Massive Cathedral

                                                           Breathtaking on the inside

Nuns eating lunch outside Cathedral

We figured we deserved another massive carb-load after that climb
Lunch with a really good view :)

Our luggage got a little bit heavier.  And it took quite a bit of searching but we think we found the best ones…

We love Pisa!  It's a pretty town!
