Trail Ride at Dawn to Start Off Our Last Day at the Agriturismo

Today, I got up at 5:30 a.m. to go on the "Dawn Ride" over the Tuscan countryside with about 6 other riders.

Wow!  It was amazing and definitely worth getting up early.

These are real horses with lots of spunk and require a decent amount of handling (which made it all the more fun).  Definitely not the "dead" trail horses we plop our toddlers on in the US.  We rode for two hours & covered a lot of terrain.  And they like to ride fast here, so there was plenty of trotting & cantering - Yee HAW!!!
Four loose horses popped out of nowhere and gave us an eager greeting!  I guess they are "free range" horses, pretty sweet lifestyle - good for them :)

We're getting sad to leave.
If Quinn & Angelina were a couple years older and spoke at least a few words the other could understand, they would be exchanging email addresses and becoming Facebook friends.  Alas, this beautiful friendship will probably live on only in memory…..

It's difficult to see in the photo but this project was writing out, in pebbles,
"Friends
Quinn    Angelina"
(embellished with awesome little horse statues)

Our first 10 days in Tuscany have been really wonderful!  Some highlight pics….

We still have the rest of the day ahead :)  I'm washing our clothes for a fresh start on our next three weeks -
