We love the farm but, let's just say, it is ….. remote.
We are very grateful for the ragtop! This is what we had in mind when we planned the trip - small towns and it looks like we are overachievers! The closest town, Villamagma di Volterra is tiny (we're talking super small, like one block) but it surprisingly has everything we need. There's one tiny market (the opposite of super market) that Reese described as, "the size of our bed" and that's pretty accurate. Reese and I fit in front of the counter, surrounded by shelves of food and we just rotated in place, grabbing what we needed. The lovely woman on the other side of the counter sliced our prosciutto, some other ham she pantomimed as "local," and parmesan. We bagged up a lot of fruit and the loaf of bread she pulled out from behind her and assumed we wanted (we did). We will see her again tomorrow morning :)
