Our first day at the Agriturismo

To do a little catching up…  The first day we arrived, there was a Welcome Party for the guests and the food was floooooowing.  There's a huge patio with a wood fired oven and they kept bringing more & more food.   Many varieties of pasta, lots of unknown "spreads" on slices of bread :) ... (we weren't really sure what they were), the best fresh Italian sausage we've ever had, thin steaks, and cake.  There was a woman frying small pieces of dough which you then ate with salt or drizzled honey on them.  And they brought out this plank of bread….

Picci is a favorite with the girls

We are the only Americans staying here, of the 50 or so guests (approximately, the farm has two locations with rooms).  The other guests are almost all Germans, with a few Dutch and Italians.

Here are some views from the farm…

On the hilltop in the distance, directly above the girls' heads is the town of Volterra.  We are heading there tomorrow!

And, do we like Tuscany so far???
